Health Connections

Health Connections is a Guernsey-based registered charity whose aim is to help create a more connected, caring and inclusive Bailiwick. It helps people find and access the support they need for their health and wellbeing.

Its Community Connectors provide one-to-one signposting and can help people identify the support they need, connect with community groups, activities and health and social care services, navigate local systems and access transport. Health Connections also provides information and one-to-one support for Bailiwick residents travelling off-island for treatment or care. Its services therefore benefit adults as well as other members of the wider community.

Help a Guernsey Child was established in 2001 to raise funds to support children within the Bailiwick of Guernsey. The charity says that it now particularly focuses on individual cases where there may be a gap in local funding. It reports helping more than 200 children a year and having donated more than £1.1 million for the benefit of Bailiwick children since it was established.

Applications for assistance are made on behalf of children by professionals such as social workers, health workers, teachers and doctors. Each application is considered individually and confidentially, enabling funds to be directed towards children who need practical or financial help.

Action for Children logo: white script text reading 'Action for Children' on a red star-shaped background, square aspect ratio.

Action for Children Guernsey provides services specifically for children and young people in Guernsey, with a strong local focus on young people who are vulnerable, experiencing difficulties or at risk of homelessness. Its Guernsey Youth & Housing Project also works with professionals and provides training around issues including youth homelessness and substance use.

More broadly, Action for Children works to give children and young people practical help and protection and to help them have safe and happy childhoods. Importantly for your publicity, Action for Children is formally registered as a charity in Guernsey (CH330).

For the Charity Ball, I would use the local Guernsey project’s contact details, rather than the charity’s UK-wide supporter telephone number:
